• I exported my posts from Typepad, and when I run the movable type/typepad converter within WordPress, this error is returned:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: register_importer() in /home/speedofl/public_html/blog/wp-admin/import/mt.php on line 468

    How do I fix it?

    Thanks.

I got them imported (through control panel now), the codex help file is REALLY out-of-date!

Anyway, now all of the imported posts you have to click “Click here to continue reading…”, however in the export none of them have the <! more > that requires that to happen… how do I get them to start showing the full post?

Came across this same bug — the codex/docs are out of date. The new URL for importing (regardless of product) is:

    https://{your-install}/wp-admin/import.php

I just installed wordpress-2.6.3 and this work fantastic (MoveableType/TypePad)

I am just researching how to import my typepad blog into wordpress… a little dismayed by all the negative reports and no up to date instructions. Carterco, is this still working? I’m going to try it, now a little nervous… Thanks!

    This link:
    https://{your-install}/wp-admin/import.php
is the one that is on the import page in the admin panel in wordpress.

I used it but it did not import my photos. And I had to split my file into two pieces.

Last night, I imported my blog at wordpress.com (the free blog site where you use their server) and it imported beautifully: all photos, everything and all at once – didn’t have to split the file.

Why won’t it import as easily onto my web host? Very frustrating.
