I’ve read the other posts and I have no “https://www.” or similar prefix on my domain name but there was a typo. I also read the someone mentioned email address as a possible issue. I’ve included 3 on the Google page (The one google has, the one the website has and the one I actually check most). I also corrected the typo on the google page but my web page still errors when attempting recaptcha within an WPForm. I’d like to be able to reset the WPForms reCaptcha and start all over with new keys but I see no way to edit the WPForm settings as I could in the beginning. My only choices are a simple toggle between enable or disable reCaptchav2 (invisible). One of the WPForms pages recommended the invisible setting.

I could really use some advise that I haven’t already read from similar threads.
Thanks for any help you have to offer.

  • Hey @imaquila,

    Thanks for contacting us!

The error message, “Invalid site key” appears when reCAPTCHA keys are correct but the URL has some issues. The issue is due to having the https:// or https:// added to the domain in Google’s reCAPTCHA account. In this case, removing the https:// or https:// (like this) should resolve the issue.

Or, you can create new reCAPTCHA keys, and then add them again under WPForms > Settings > Captcha. Here, you can remove the existing keys and add the new ones again. For more details, please see our guide here.

When you get the chance could you check your Google reCAPTCHA account settings, and make the adjustments if necessary?

    Kindly,

As I mentioned in my original message, I DID NOT use https:// or https://.

There WAS a typo that I fixed but it still does NOT work.

HOW do I “reset” the reCAPTCHA plugin so that I can start over?

Clicking on it will ONLY toggle between Enable and Disable. There is NO Edit option!

    Hey @imaquila,

Thanks for following on this ticket ??

To start over, you can delete current reCAPTCHA keys under WPForms > Settings > reCAPTCHA, save the settings and when you have the new keys ready with you, you can add them again.

Further, when you have some time, please try adding Asterix to the end of the URL and see how it goes. Or, you can even try adding *.example.com/* format wherein you’re adding Asterix before and after the URL so it would cover all the possibilities of the URL in reCAPTCHA.

Let us know how it goes!

    Kindly,

    Hey @imaquila,

We haven’t heard back from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Kindly,
