    Hey guys,

maybe i’m missing something here but i couldn’t find any setting.

When I use the “www” field for people to add their website you have to always type in the url with a https:// wich is pretty awkward for somebody who doesn’t have much to do with the internet.

Is there a setting i have missed or is this an issue that i can maybe fix somehow?

    Thx in advance,
    Phil

    Hi Phil.

I tool a peek at MailChimp’s documentation regarding field types, and I can’t find any information on validating and autoformtting the “website” field.

    Here is their article: https://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/managing-subscribers/manage-list-and-signup-form-fields

    It just says:

    Website
Subscribers provide a full URL. This field type generates the HTML code for a link.

You may want to ask their support if there is any auto formatting that happens when people enter a URL into this field or if it is just plain text.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Thank you!

    Hi Phil,

This is actually a check put into place by the HTML5 input field when the type parameter is set to URL.

    https://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/input.url.html

I am working on a new release which will have a fix in place for this. Ideally, when a user entered a URL to a site that doesn’t contain https://, the plugin will now append https:// to the beginning of the URL so that the form can be submit properly.

Keep an eye out for the update at some point this week.

    Hi Phil,

I’m closing out this ticket, because we’ve added the fix for this to the next update of the plugin that is coming out soon.

Thank you for bringing this to out attention!
