• Using veryplaintext2.0 theme, when a commenter posts a link, it shows up as text rather than as a hyperlink. I want the link to work as a link. How can this be forced to work without teaching the commenters html code. Why doesn’t WordPress do this automatically, like this https://? Seems that being unable to recognize when something should be a link is a bit behind the times. Message boards do it automatically.

    Thanks!

Spam can be controlled between Akismet and limiting the number of links per post. These tools have worked well so far.

As for your suggestions of several plugins that will do it, so far, after browsing the plugin lists, I have not been able to find one. If anyone else out there can help with this, thanks in advance.

I have been trying for several weeks to get an answer, but the support threads seem to disappear into a black hole after the first 15 minutes and no one sees them.

That’s why I re-framed and reposted the question. Hopefully, it won’t be necessary to do again.
