Query Posts in a Specific Category and Sort by Year

Any help would be much appreciated …I’m trying to get posts from one category and wanted to sort the posts from that category by year.

I tried to modify the code so it just pulls posts from category 8 (it is a subcategory- not sure if that makes a difference) but I get posts from all my categories.

I posted the modified code on pastebin – https://pastebin.com/vFvtaj5i (I thought I would just have to add ‘category => 8’ to the array…).
