Hi there, if the main site has an SSL (https://) then does the domain I am trying to use for a single page need the same via the Registrar?

It seems to cause a 500 error on the browser

    Thanks

  • Hi Matt,
I got set WordPress for SSL and rewrite on CloudFlare site.
Tried above, but not found any difference.

When left only https:// and trying to go to shop.
it trying to load shop. and redirect to www. (back to home page)

Tried turn off HTTPS rewrite by CloudFlare and try again, but nothing changed.

Need to have added https:// and https:// in multidomain settings for same page.

    Hi Matt,

I had a response from Namesco regarding the mapping function. I asked if they had the equivalent to 123REG and they don’t.

“Unfortunately we do not offer a similar tool, How ever there is a similar tool if you use Cpanel professional or premium, but this i all handled through Cpanel.”

Do you think there is another way round it or shall I move the webdesignwetherby domain to 123REG?

if a hosting provider wont let you have the chance to edit DNS records as you like or assign multiple domains to a single hosting, it is always a good choice to think of moving. but this is far out of my support scope and also does not fit into this thread anymore.

    Thanks,
I will investigate this over weekend and will advise if I found something. Hope thats not only my issue.

Found a solution to my issue.

When got site in SSL and I will add domain

    shop.___.uk to point /shop

as default, plugin is adding it as https://shop.___

than, when I am adding https://shop.____ to point this to same site, it working well (both need to be added), but all links to shop.___ on SSL site, are links to https:// not https://. Got rewrite on that, but would prefer to show all links in https:// as default.

    As notice, when added
    shop.___.uk, it add as https://
Than in second line I https://shop.__.uk

What plugin does, it didn’t retain an order, but placed https:// as a first position in the list before https://

Theoretically, if order were working in plugin, all shall work, and all links shall be replaced to https://.

But, I need to change 1st line from https:// to https:// and second line https:// to https:// (both pointing to same position).

Than, all links on site are in https:// form by default.

Your plugin is great, as after a week I start benefit on traffic, so please don’t feel offended, just would like to help you solve issues.

    Hope that help.

Also, always after any change in plugin settings Permalink settings need to be re-saved.

@idarek, thanks for reporting – i totally understand your point and i am happy that you help other users with your experience.

but, as i can not reproduce the behaviour in my environments, i guess i will have to leave things as they are in this case… as already mentioned, if there are more users reporting this behaviour we will have get back to it.

thank you and good luck with your project!
