• Hello,

I have a problème with “Contact Form 7”.

The message that is stored in the database, via the “Flamingo” module, records a good web url (example: https//www/google.com). But the message sent to me transforms all the web urls by: https://track.smtpsendemail.com/9086962/c?p=…

So it looks like some files are corrupted but I can’t find which ones.
I use the “Wordfence Security – Firewall & Malware Scan” module but it does not detect modified/corrupted files.
I uninstalled, deleted and reinstalled the latest version of “Contact Form 7”, but the symptoms persist.

Thank you in advance for your help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @archipelstudios,

&?#8230; is the HTML entity for the horizontal ellipsis character (), which means that the URL is being blinded or reduced.

That said, I wonder how you’re fetching that URL, is this maybe using a special email tag, like [_url]?

Tank you Yordan for your reply.

    The field is:

    [text* your-website placeholder “Website *”]

And in the notification email I get it like this:

    Website: [your-website]

If this field begins with https:// or https://, it is replaced by an address that begins as follows:
    https://track.smtpsendemail.com/9086962/c?p=WMIhYjFC9L2A0MW1…`

Thanks for providing more details, @archipelstudios!

Your form setup looks good, so I think this is an issue related with another plugin, is this maybe a plugin to handle mails through SMTP.com? I’m mentioning this because the smtpsendemail.com redirects to smtp.com

I suspect that maybe this plugin could to be capturing the links from your forms and converting them to tracking links to managed analytics.

If I hit the target, and you’re indeed using such a plugin, please disable it temporarily and try to send a test submission from your form to test if the URL looks correct (without converting it to a trackable URL).
