WooCommerce – Digital Downloads (mp3's) unsuccessful on phones (Android) & iPad

    Hello

    I’m running a website selling short mp3’s & m4r’s as ringtones and I’m using WooCommerce v 2.3.7 as the platform to do this:-

    The website is a bit rude and contains swearing so be warned! It’s https://ruderobotringtones.com

    All the products for sale are digital but the downloads fail when trying to use a phone (Android – Samsung Galaxy Note 3 & Galaxy Ace) and on an iPad (ios 8). There seem to be no issues when downloading onto my laptop or iMac.

    At present the File Download Method is “Force Downloads” and I’ve also tried “X-Accel_Redirect/X-Sendfile” but neither of them work. “Redirect only” sort of works but it not ideal.

    I’ve tried doing it again after disabling all the plugins with no joy and even changed the theme to Twenty Twelve but again with no joy.

    The whole point of my site is for people to download digital products to their phones so this is a big deal.

    Here are the server specs:-
    Apache Version 2.2.25
    PHP Version 5.3.27

    Does anybody have any ideas? Could it be the server? Could it be that the PHP version is 5.3? Could it be the fact that the site is https:// rather than https://?

    Any help would be appreciated – I’m going round in circles!

    Hello again.

    I think I’ve solved this issue.

    I originally set the Download Limit to 1 for each of the downloads, however I have discovered that setting the Download Limit to 2 or more seems to have done the trick. I have set the download limit to 5 just to be on the safe side.

    Although the download “plays” (mp3) when downloaded onto an iPad it doesn’t seem to have been stored anywhere but I think that says more about the iPad than WooCommerce.
