In reply to: site title coming up as 'Index of/' in google instead of site nameHi rwaynick,
I just tried your method as described in this article again and it works if in Step 3 you ignore what he says and copy/paste the whole code, not the portion he suggests!My site has now passed the verification process – I’m guessing it will take a day or so to see the changes?

In reply to: site title coming up as 'Index of/' in google instead of site nameOk – just tried your first method again using https://www.alisonlight.org and it failed again.
If I do it via FTP – should I just upload to the root?

In reply to: site title coming up as 'Index of/' in google instead of site nameChanged it yesterday. And Haven’t asked google (this has never happened before). Just now looking at their webmaster tools section – can you advised best method with a WP site?
Their recommended method (download verification file and upload to site) – I’m not sure how i’d upload it to a WP site?

In reply to: Removing Border from an Image with a CaptionHi, I’ve just tried this and it hasn’t worked for me.
Below is what I’ve put in my custom css
The second style is something I found to style the caption font…This is the page with the caption: https://www.alisonlight.org/welcome/common-people/
.wp-caption { background-color: #d7e1eb !important; border: none; } a.wp-caption p, a.wp-caption:hover p, .wp-caption p.wp-caption-text, .full-image-caption { font-size:11px !important; }
Thanks,

In reply to: link not working: possible blockquote issueThe images are links because wordpress makes all images links in that way – when you do ‘insert media’ – I agree, it doesn’t look good.
As for the hidden blockquote – all I am able to explain is that if I change the rule (.entry blockquote: before) and give it a colour then a pre-formatted quote mark appears on the page.

In reply to: link not working: possible blockquote issueThanks.
That is the only quote on the page.I don’t know how else to explain it.
This rule.entry blockquote:before { color: #FFFFFF; padding-left: 20em; padding-top: 10em; }
seems to only relate to the theme’s quote image, whereas I’ve inserted my own image within blockquote tags.
You’re right I should probably bring it up with the theme designers. It does all seem to work though – and on different browsers…

In reply to: link not working: possible blockquote issueThanks very much – it does work! Although I’m not sure I fully understand.
And that rule relates to the theme’s opening quote that I didn’t want to use (I used my own) but I couldn’t get rid of it so just made it white and positioned it over white background…
Would you know how I could just remove it?
Thanks again.

In reply to: blockquotes in text widgetsYes I have.
Here’s the page:
I want the quote in the side bar to look like the quote in the main text which I’ve styled in custom.css.
I’m using Canvas and the widget is woosidebar.
