It turns out that in my case it wasn’t a theme issue at all —?the redirect has to be set in the widget, not just in the plugin settings. Once I changed this to the right place in the widget’s settings, it worked perfectly.

@tactics, how about you?

I’m having the same problem, WP 3.9.1 and CS 2.0.7. I can’t select any options for the custom sidebars. Also, after I select the option “Allow this sidebar to be replaced” it appears checked, but when I refresh the page it’s always unchecked, no matter how many CS options I save.

I’m using Custom Sidebars plugin version 1.6. Before this happened, I was exploring a problem with another plugin, and I switched themes to test that and then came back to my theme.

However, I can confirm that there was no change in the database of the content of ‘cs_modifiable’, ‘cs_sidebars’ because I have a daily backup and could compare before and after.

Does your theme include some kind of subscribe functionality, by any chance?

Mine does, and I think there may be some kind of clash of variables or something.

You can just set the “Cached pages will be valid for” option to an amount of time, and they will be removed from the cache automatically.

Also, you should update to show plugin compatibility with 3.9.1. ??

I’m also getting LOTS of 404 errors because of this. Please fix it in the next update of the plugin. Thanks!

It doesn’t cache 404 responses, so it should work with 404 Error Logger.

Thanks Mikko. I think the problem was actually the burden that the WP editor itself places on the server because of admin-ajax.php and the Heartbeat API. It had nothing to do with your excellent plugin.

In case anyone’s interested, installing the AJAX Heartbeat Tool plugin and switching PHP to FastCGI on my server helped.

I’d like this feature too!

Or if you could tell us the capability slug(s), I can remove it for non-admins using the User Role Editor plugin.
