In reply to: [Uncanny Toolkit for LearnDash] Changing the Front End Login setupHi Spirit:
Ha, interesting. So what exactly will you be using it for, because it doesn’t appear to be an alternative to all the Registration / Login / Set / Reset / Lost Password etc. functions?

In reply to: [Uncanny Toolkit for LearnDash] Changing the Front End Login setupHi SpiritCentric???
OK, so I too was having trouble with UnCanny Owl’s login feature and, although I can’t remember who, it was suggested to me that I try Theme My Login. It works very well, for me, and on redirected pages you can use LD shortcodes to personalize salutations.
All the best,

In reply to: [Uncanny Toolkit for LearnDash] Changing the Front End Login setupHi:
Won’t using First Names get confusing for you, as many people have the same First Name? Is your concern with regard to auto populating salutations eg. Hi Daniela:? If that’s the case there is a LD shortcode that will pull the person’s First Name from their Profile.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] Login RedirectHi:
Are you logged in as the Administrator or a User?

In reply to: [Theme My Login] Login is not secureI’m no expert, but I don’t think the theme has anything to do with whether or not the site is secure. For that, you need to purchase an SSL Certificate, which you might be able to obtain via your Hosting Company.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] Shows ‘default_action=”login”‘ when profile is updatedHi Amanda:
I’m just a simple user like you and need to untangle a similar issue of my own. Unfortunately, I don’t have a solution for you, but I see that you’ve submitted several posts and haven’t received ANY replies, much less, any solutions.
I know how lonely it can feel when there isn’t so much as an echo, so I wanted to let you know you’re not alone.

In reply to: [Spam protection, Anti-Spam, FireWall by CleanTalk] PayPal ConflictHi Donna:
Thanks for the suggestion v.v. the Log and White Listing.
My problem and solution were far simpler. I’d absent-mindedly used US instead of USD as the currency code to connect with PayPal. Once I changed that everything was honkey dorey.
Thanks again for your time,

In reply to: [Spam protection, Anti-Spam, FireWall by CleanTalk] PayPal ConflictHi Serge:
I wish I could report otherwise, but I deactivated CleanTalk, and it’s still not connecting to PayPal. That worries me because it appeared that CleanTalk was responsible, what does it mean now that it’s deactivated?
Is it possible that there are still remnants that are interfering?

Hi:
Others might pipe in and correct me, but I believe that if you’re using wp for any form of registration, you’re actually adding them as Users, which by extension requires them to have a password.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] DocumentationHello Jeff:
Thanks. Again, while I have your attention, is there now or might you consider a way for the User to receive a notification that SOMEONE is trying to change their Password and either advise me or ignore, similar to what eg. Twitter, LinkedIn, and many others are doing?

In reply to: [Theme My Login] DocumentationHi:
Thanks for the link to the Theme My Login documentation.
While I have your attention, I’ve activated the Enable Custom E-mail feature which allows me to enter my own outgoing message to New Users after Registering, but the message they receive does NOT contain the link back to the site to set their password.
Is that how it should work, or have I overlooked a step? How can I have the outgoing message embed that link? I presume that I would need to concern myself equally for the Retrieve and Reset Password options.
Thanks for your time,

In reply to: [Uncanny Toolkit for LearnDash] Login ShortcodeHi Ryan:
Ooops!
The reason why both the register and password reset are / were available via the Staging Site is because I still had the login page selected in the module.
In an attempt to understand the nuance of using the two login option shortcodes, I keep reading your descriptions of these features over-and-over and correct me if I’m wrong, but should I understand that the [uo_login] is strictly for adding the Login Form anywhere on the site, whereas [uo_login_ui] is what SHOULD be used on the Login Page.
Since it doesn’t allow me to add any text between the opening and closing instructions, I presume that I can drop it surrounded by text in the standard WP Editor OR ALSO within Visual Composer.
I look forward to your feedback,

In reply to: [Uncanny Toolkit for LearnDash] Login ShortcodeHi Ryan:
Following up with the Login feature. I’m experiencing some serious roadblocks in attempting to generate a Student Profile / Account. I’m logged out as the admin.
The Uncanny Owl login page doesn’t offer the option to Register or to reset Password
Leaving the fields blank, and selecting Log In, redirects to the standard WP Login module
I may be tenacious, but many visitors would be stumped
Entering test credentials into the Login Fields> Log In> Locks me out v.v. WordFence, my security plugin / software
It appears that the Login Form is attempting to login the visitor as an Administrator and Wordfence is proactively blocking any such attempt, because the entered UserName is NOT on the approved list. So, what am I doing wrong? Why can’t the would-be student register?
BTW, if replicating this via the Staging Site ie. https://, with the [uo_login] both the Forgot Your Password and Register options are available.
Again, thanks for your time,
Miguel
