Hey @malae ,
I’ve updated the plugin to address a few of the issues Version 1.1 but the plugin page is still saying “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”.
Do you know why this is and how to address it?
Thanks.
Thank you for this!
Looks promising and will see if I can get this method to update the plugin.I’m having some issues updating the plugin through svn.
Even while using the tutorial by WordPress: https://developer.www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-org/how-to-use-subversion/Do you have any recomendations on a clear way to update plugins through svn?
Thanks @malaeHi @malae
I have update the files in Github today and waiting for an update.
The other 2 issues that you have mentioned in previous posts were also updated.Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I apologize this has gone without an update this long.Forum: Themes and Templates

In reply to: [SocialMag] Socialmag theme problemsI apologize for not seeing this earlier (not many people use this forum).
I don’t understand why your not using the theme customizer.
There’s a “Colors” panel and “Typography” panel with plenty of options for both of those. Its very easy to use.In regard to the comment “Also, was Socialmag not made with tablet and mobile in mind? Because it’s a mess in tablet view and in mobile view.” – Some screenshots would have been helpful… and I highly doubt that this is happening since most of the time developing SocialMag was done on responsive elements to make sure it works.
On top of that, thousands of other people have not had that issue and a few online companies have used SocialMag to make their websites (all of which have done extensive testing for mobile on top of what I have done.)
The page you posted is a link to your website.
None of this adds up…The profile writing this comment is ‘fm357159’ who joined in the last month and has only written this review titled “SocialMag theme problems” none of which are valid or make any sense.
They have also started a topic called “WP Quiz plugin misbehaving”.
The plugin is by developer called ‘MyThemeShop’ whose plugin seems to have good reviews but the comment posted by ‘fm357159’ seems to tear it apart and then ask for help while posting a link to their website.Whether this is someone very inexperienced with WordPress or someone trolling the WordPress forums… I’m calling them out because this isn’t at all helpful to the community. (this topic has been reported).

In reply to: [SocialMag] Front PageSince that’s not very specific I’ll provide the best instructions I can.
Everything that you add/edit/change is in the Theme Customizer.
When your logged into your site, go to the main page and click “customize”.The theme customizer menu is now open on the left side.
Click “Front Page Options” all the options you can edit and change for the front page are there.I’m not sure what “theme ad” means… if your referring to the linked image under “SocialMag PRO Upgrade” that’s what that is for. Its the upgraded Pro version.
If you mean the theme “screenshot” which is the main image you see here: https://www.ads-software.com/themes/socialmag/ use the instructions above. When the theme customizer is open everything that is ‘editable’ has a blue pencil icon on it. By clicking those it will automatically take you to that option. Social icons, front page intro text, menus, etc.
Under “Button Url (https://)” on the “Front Page Options” section add a url to the first line and button text in the second line.
Posts that you have made “sticky” will populate the slider and make sure you have set a featured image.

In reply to: [Accept Stripe Payments] fatal error message when trying to activate pluginIts one of these 2, either:
- you have another plugin using that same class ‘Stripe’
- or if you’ve done custom code, you’ve declared it somewhere else in the theme
make sure ALL plugins are deactivated.
then reactivate only this Stripe plugin.
The error should no longer be there and any other plugins using Stripe should be deleted. What is it your trying to do?
That way I can tell you.If your trying to change anything using css you should be using “inspect element” in either Firefox or Chrome to find what it is you need to change.
Your other thread has been solved.
remove
list-style-type: none;
on line 157 in style.css under
.blog-block ul li
That will allow bullet points.
This isn’t an issue in the new version coming.

In reply to: [Social Magazine] Follow Up on Two ColumnsHey Chris,
It seems very likely this is in the admin setting (easy fix).
Go to “Settings” > “Reading” where is says “Blog pages show at most” choose the amount of posts you want to show. The click “Save Changes”.

In reply to: [Social Magazine] Left sidebarI like the ‘Load More’ feature. Looks good.
Just remember that all customizations made to WordPress themes are done through child themes.
So in this case a child theme of Social Magazine.
I back up my customizations and make copies. If you were to update the version with customization made directly to the theme… all of that work would be lost.
Thought I would put that out there as a reminder to everyone to use child themes for customizations.

In reply to: [Social Magazine] Left sidebarI like the “Load More” feature you used. Looks good.
Just remember, its important that all customizations made to any WordPress theme are made through a ‘child theme’. So in this case a child theme made for Social Magazine. Personally, I back up all child themes and regular themes in multiple places.
If you were to update the version and those customizations weren’t in a child theme, all that work would be lost.Though I would put that out there just as a reminder for everyone.
